5 Top Arguineguín Restaurants You Have To Try

Published in Living in Gran Canaria

Arguineguín town is a favourite spot for holidaymakers and Gran Canaria residents because of its pretty harbour and beach. A laid-back atmosphere and plenty of waterfront restaurants makes it a great place to eat out. Here are five of the Cárdenas Real Estate staff’s favourite Arguineguín restaurants for you to try.

Please let us know if you find a great restaurant that isn’t on the list. We’re always looking for new places!

Fusion Restaurant and Loungebar

With friendly international service and lovely interior design, as well as plenty of sunny outdoor tables, Fusion is a favourite with residents and visitors alike and consistently tops the TripAdvisor Arguineguín restaurant section.

The menu has something for everyone from Thai green curry to juicy burgers. Portions are generous and the presentation is excellent. Go on Tuesdays and you get to eat surrounded by Arguineguín’s busy market.

Fusion is on Calle Alonso Quesada a few minutes walk from Arguineguín Beach and our offices. There’s a kid’s play park just opposite.

Cofradía de Pescadores

Arguineguín town’s most authentic seafood restaurant with a gorgeous harbour-side location: The Cofradía is run by the local fisherman’s collective and gets the pick of the day’s fresh fish and seafood from the local boats.

Arrive early for a table as it fills up fast with local families, especially at weekends. Portions are huge and one starter is often enough between two. The menu is available in several languages but the translations are a little eccentric: Part of the fun is working out exactly what things are before you order. The papas arrugadas (wrinkly potatoes) with mojo sauce and the calamares are excellent.

The Cofradía is in the harbour close to where the ferries from Mogán and Puerto Rico dock (map).

Bar Playa El Boya

There’s a big cement factory just next door but somehow it adds to the charm of local favourite El Boya. Sitting in the shade of a giant fig tree just yards from El Pajar beach this higgledy-piggledy restaurant does huge portions of fantastic seafood at local prices.

With sea views, friendly service and low-key charm in spadefuls, El Boya is a local secret well worth visiting. Arrive early for lunch at weekends as Canarians will queue for hours for El Boya’s views and great value.

El Pajar beach and village are just north of Arguineguín. See this map for details.

Los Canarios I

The sister restaurant of the famous Guantanamo in Tauro and Acaymo in Mogán and a firm Arguineguín favourite amongst locals and visitors. The steaks are fantastic and the shoulder of lamb is superb. Order sparingly as Los Canarios 1 doesn’t do small!

Los Canarios 1 is on Calle Princesa Guayarmina behind the Arguineguín Shopping Centre.

Pizzeria Ciao

It’s fitting that Ciao is the Cárdenas Real Estate staff’s favourite Italian restaurant: Its location on the rocks overlooking the beach and harbour is spectacular. Whether you sit on the outdoor terrace or in the restaurant you get a panormaic view of the ocean.

Ciao’s Italian food and pizzas are excellent and the service is always prompt and friendly: The perfect place for a lazy lunch or a romantic meal.
