Remodelling Of The Arguineguin Harbour: An Improvement That Enhances The Area
Published in Buyer tips, Seller tips, Living in Gran Canaria, News
The Arguineguin harbour is about to get a complete makeover. The Mogan Town Council, Puertos Canarios and the Government of the Canary Islands have launched a project that will modernise the port and its surroundings.
The plan includes the reorganisation of the inner dock, new pontoons, improved access and ramps, and beautification works on the promenades and pedestrian areas. Electrical networks and services will also be renewed to make the area more comfortable and accessible for everyone.
Timeline and budget
The main work, focused on the inner dock, has a budget of around 2 million euros and an estimated duration of 15 months. If the works begin at the end of 2025, completion is expected by December 2026.
In addition, smaller projects such as repairs and visual improvements have been awarded, with an extra €480,000 budget.
Benefits for the area
The renovation will make the port more modern, safe and attractive, both for residents and visitors. This will mean higher property values nearby and new opportunities for local businesses.
The seafront promenade will also become more pleasant and functional, reinforcing the harbour’s role as a lively meeting point in the heart of Arguineguin.
