Arguineguín Set For Huge Marina Investment

Published in News

How the new Arguineguin harbour will look once the revelopment project is finished Massive investment in Arguineguin harbour looks likely to happen after the public entity Puertos Canarios gave provisional approval to a 16 million euro project. The latest news on this story. The plan, submitted by private company Puerto Deportivo Arguineguín, S.L. and funded by a local entrepreneur, is to develop Arguineguín's mixed fishing and sporting harbour into a much bigger marina with separate commercial fishing and recreational zones. The recreational section would have 334 moorings, while the fishing area would have room for up to 90 boats. Other parts of the plan include an ambitious expansion of the harbour's leisure and shopping  facilities: 2000 square metres of shops, restaurants and terraces along the harbour wall. It was one of three proposals submitted to Puertos Canarios after a public tender, and now goes out to public consultation for a month before final approval. Work could start in 2016 and be completed within two years.
