Mogán Town Hall plans a new Arguineguín car park to help ease parking problems in the town centre.
The announced plans are for a new underground car park designed to provide 486 parking places on two levels, plus a large public square on the roof. This will include commercial spaces, a food kiosk, children's park, public exercise machines and sports facilities. The plans also include shaded areas, a green zone, and a multi-use hall.
The new Arguineguín car park will be located just inland of the Gc 500 road and will occupy the same space as the existing ground-level car park next to the Health Centre (Map)
Mogán mayor Onalia Bueno said that the car park would be run directly by the local government in order to keep prices as low as possible. Prices will be €1.50 per hour, 50 euros per month for 24-hour parking and 30 euros per month for 12 hours per day.
The budget for the new Arguineguín car park is €8.1 million of which Mogán will pay €3.19 million. The FDCAN (Canary Islands Development Fund) will provide the remaining €5 million.
