Arguineguin

Arguineguín is a charming traditional fishing port with 21st Century appeal, one of the most popular locations on the south coast of Gran Canaria.

Arguineguín, Gran Canaria

The port of Arguineguín is proud of its rich fishing heritage but has moved with the times to become a first-choice place to live and visit, with great beaches, a marina and a buzzing social scene. It is the main town in the municipality of Mogán.

Something for everyone

Arguineguín is popular with tourists, but also with locals and longer-term visitors who can choose from a wide selection of houses and apartments, with easy access to the town’s charms, including many kilometres of beachfront walkways, shops, bars and restaurants serving locally caught fish.

Whether it’s a modern penthouse or a 3-floor house in the old fisherman’s quarter, the main town has plenty of different properties to offer. The urbanization of Lomas Dos has amazing sea views from its terraced and semi-detached houses, detached villas and apartment blocks.

Wherever you choose to live or stay, you’re bound to be close to sandy beaches, while other southern hubs such as Puerto Rico, Playa del Inglés and Maspalomas are just a short drive along the coast.

Spectacular views, a perfect climate

The south of the island is famous for its beautiful sunsets, a natural show that is best enjoyed while relaxing or entertaining friends on your balcony or terrace. The climate here is one of the best in the world, which means that you can count on perfect sunny days for living your ultimate outdoor lifestyle, whether that means watersports, mountain hikes or al fresco dining.

A warm welcome, a chilled lifestyle

Arguineguín has an attractive mix of permanent residents from the island and seasonal residents, who love to come here and escape the cold European winter. It has the feeling of a residential area with the added appeal of being next to the sea. There is a particularly large Norwegian community, served by a Norwegian club, Norwegian Church and Norwegian College.

A wealth of facilities for daily living

Apart from its lovely beaches, Arguineguín offers a range of cafes, bars and restaurants to suit all tastes, including fish, meat, Italian and Chinese. There are large supermarkets and two shopping centres in town, and the Mogán Mall in just a 10-minute drive away in Puerto Rico.
